Second Sunday in Lent

Scripture

“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.”
— Matthew 17:5

Devotional

On the mountain, the disciples witnessed something glorious — Christ revealed in radiant light. Yet in that moment of awe, the Father’s voice gave one clear instruction: Listen to Him.

Lent is not only a season of surrender — it is a season of listening.
In a world full of noise, opinions, fear, and distraction, God gently reminds us where to fix our attention.

Listen to Him when He calls you forward.
Listen to Him when He corrects you.
Listen to Him when He comforts you.

The glory on the mountain prepared the disciples for the suffering ahead. In the same way, when we listen to Christ, He strengthens us for whatever lies before us.

Reflection

Where has the noise of life drowned out the voice of Jesus?
What would it look like this week to intentionally listen?

Prayer

Lord, quiet my heart.
Help me tune out every voice that pulls me away from You.
Teach me to listen — truly listen — to Your Son.
Amen.
